S.O.(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Paragraphs 1.3 and 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendments made upto 31.3.2001), The Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import items, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendments made upto 31st August, 1998 ) and as amended from time to time:-

2. Code No.2610 of Schedule 2 Table B of the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import items, 1997-2002 may be amended to include following new entry after 2610(c):

Code Item Description Policy Nature of Restriction 2610 (d) Low Silica friable/fine Chromite ore with Cr2O3 in the range of 52-54% and Silica exceeding 4% State Trading Enterprises(s) Export through MMTC Limited. 2. This issues in public interest.
