PUBLIC NOTICE NO.48/2015
SUBJECT: Illegal export of Pharmaceutical drugs like Tramadol from India to UAE-reg.
Attention is invited of all importers, Custom Brokers and all Members of the Trade regarding
the illegal export of Pharmaceutical drugs like Tramadol from India to UAE.
2. It has come to the notice of the intelligence agencies that pharmaceutical drugs like Tramadol
being either exported through cargo or being carried by air passengers in substantial quantities,
which otherwise are either prohibited or restricted at the destination countries. In several such
overseas seizures, it has been informed that the drugs were found to be mis-declared at the port
of loading in India and in case of air passengers there was absence of any prescription. Such
seizures have a negative impact on bonafide exports from India.
3.In view of the above, the exporters and custom brokers are advised to ensure proper and correct
declaration of the goods in general and particularly in case of drugs . All the staff posted in the
Export Docks are hereby directed to keep a vigil so that the pharmaceutical drugs like Tramadol
should not be exported from JNCH.
4.The contents of the Public Notice shall be publicized for information of all concerned.
