Sub: - Empanelment of Chartered Engineers for technical opinion/valuation of mechanical/electronics machinery and Plants (including second hand) etc, in Mumbai Customs Zone-II -reg

Attention of all Importers, Custom Brokers, other stake holders and members of the Trade is invited to the earlier Public Notice No. 87/2024-25 dated 14.10.2024 issued on the above mentioned subject.

2. In this regard, reference is invited to Show Cause Notice no. 1634/2024-25/ADC/GRV/NS-V/CAC/JNCH_ dated 21.01.2025, based on investigation by CIU, JNCH issued in case of M/s Aban Singapore Pte Ltd. wherein it is proposed to impose penalty under section 117 and 1I4AA of the Customs Act, 1962 against Shri M Naga Chaitanya, Chartered Engineer for abetment in acts of omission and commission that rendered the goods liable to confiscation under section 111 of Customs Act, 1962.

3. In the view of above, the competent authority has decided to de-panel the below mentioned Chartered Engineer temporarily from the panel of Chartered Engineers for technical opinion/valuation of mechanical/electrical/electronics machinery and Plants (including second hand) ete, in Mumbai Customs Zone-II with immediate effect till the completion of adjudication proceedings in the matter:

4. This Public Notice will take effect from 17-10-2025 and the previous public Notice No. 87/2024-25 dated 24.10.2024 stands modified to this effect. Any report issued by the said Chartered Engineer henceforth will be null and void till further notices.
